Self care can be a tricky thing.

A lot of us don't believe we have the time, money, or aptitude for self care.

Some of us believe we don't deserve to prioritize ourselves, or that other people's needs should come before our own.

And then, there are others who don't know what self care is, or poo-poo it because it's frivolous or unnecessary.

But the truth is, self care is anything we can do to support the wellbeing of our mind, body and soul. 

And it doesn't have to consume your time or your wallet. It's not selfish or frivolous. It's a necessary habit if we want to move from survive mode, to thrive mode.  

My name is Crystal McLain, and it’s my mission to inspire and support folks who want to practice Creative Self Care.

Creative Self Care is the art of approaching your wellness from a new perspective.

It's seeing yourself, your worth and your power differently

It's caring for your mind, body and soul with authority and authenticity, using curiosity, ingenuity, and intuition.

It allows you to keep up with your ever-changing body in this ever-evolving world using practices that align with your TRUE needs, personality, and lifestyle.

Creative self care is about building habits that make you feel healthy, empowered and fulfilled.

And, if you're anything like me, you're MORE than ready to feel this way. 

But, also like me, maybe you've struggled most of your life with low self esteem, poor body image, reckless behaviors, zero boundaries, and a warped sense of health and wellness.

So, while you might like the idea of Creative Self Care, it may feel about as possible as a trip to the moon.

I'm here to tell you, not only is it possible, it's PROBABLE. You can get creative with your self care, if you have some guidance.


  • Challenge your definitions of "self care" and "self worth", and rewrite them with authority and authenticity.

  • Build Confidence while learning to trust your body, your choices, and your intuition

  • Explore wellness and empowerment practices that are effective, accessible and sustainable.

  • Feel valued, accepted and supported, just as you are.

At CMC I offer four ways you can start getting creative with your self care.

I host a blog and podcast where we:

  • Develop a positive, growth mindset. 

  • Expand our self awareness.

  • Increase our body consciousness. 

  • Explore ways of caring for our WHOLE self (mind, body and mother-lovin' soul).

The goal is to BELIEVE and TRUST in ourselves to understand what our mind and body are asking from us, so we can clearly define our wants, needs and hurdles, so we can live the life we deserve.

I'm also on Instagram, Facebook, and occasionally  TikTok, where I sprinkle helpful nuggets of inspiration.

It's one thing to think about creating positive, empowering change. But, it’s another to actually follow through.

Sometimes the first step towards wellness is feeling safe and secure within your body.

I know first hand how powerfully healing safe, therapeutic touch can be.

I know how transformational it is to be accepted and supported, just as I am. 

I also know how empowering it is to have agency of my body.

At my massage therapy practice I offer a mix of gentle modalities that support the body's natural healing power, and instill a sense of confidence and calm. 

  • I'm a licensed massage therapist, cranio-sacral practioner, self care mentor, quiet activist, and life-long creative person, who's been in the mind-body biz since 2009. I've worked with hundreds of folks, facilitating their health, wellness and empowerment goals.

  • I speak from personal experience, having overcome my own self-damaging beliefs and behaviors.

  • I'm nerdy, sassy, love to laugh, and I swear like a friggin' pirate. 

  • I'm a relentless researcher, who's dedicated to sharing all that I learn in a fun and simple way!

  • Science steers my ship, but I hold a special place in my heart for all the magical, mystical woo. 

  • I'm pro-abortion and gender affirming procedures, and support LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC communities. So, if you're down for diversity and body autonomy, we're totally going to get along.
