In my previous blogcast we dove deep into the ins and outs of manifestation. What it is, what it isn’t, how to do it, and a bunch of tips for making it stick.
And because I love you, I’m gotta get real with you…
Sometimes our manifestations just don’t pan out.
And that can feel like an epic bummer.
Well, in today’s blogcast we’re gonna talk about what to do should your manifestation fizzle. We’ll find a way to get a second chance, how to reignite your inspiration, and, at the very least, we’ll learn how to turn this giant lemon into some of the most delicious lemonade.

So, real quick, let’s talk about what manifestation actually is.
It’s a goal.
Manifesting is just fancy goal setting. And truth be told, there’s a bit of work that goes into either of these things.
It takes dedication, intention, and a bit of chutzpah. And sometimes, despite our efforts, it just doesn’t work out the way we envisioned.
And, there’s a lot to unpack with this, but let’s address the most important thing first.
If your manifestation fizzles, that does NOT mean that you are a failure.
Now, I could go forever about why you’re not a failure, but we don’t have that kind of time. You’re just going to have to trust me that you are an epic brilliant, beautiful, beast.
Anyway, when things don’t work out, that just means that something went wrong. And things go wrong all the time. So, instead of getting hard on ourselves and giving up our dreams entirely, let’s take a look at where we could make some improvements.
Alright, so you’re here because your manifestation just isn’t panning out. Or, maybe you’re taking preemptive measures to to make sure that it does. Whatever your reason, what we’re doing here today is going over several diagnostic tests to see where things might have gone awry. And if you’ve truly done all that you can do, and you’re still at a loss, I want you to be able see just how much you’ve actually gained.
Alright. You might want to grab a pen for this…
Let’s start with the reality check
Now, this might sting a little, but we’ve got to be brutally honest with ourselves and ask the question, how realistic is this goal? Or, how realistic is my process for achieving this goal?
Now, I’m a huge advocate for dreaming big. In fact, I’ve got some massive Oprah-level-impact sized dreams I’d like to achieve. But I’m also a fan of setting myself up for success, and striving for something that’s actually achievable.
That means I have to keep this big-ass dream out on the horizon, but put my focus and energy on each little step towards getting there. And I have to make sure that each of these steps fit within my means.
And that means they have to be SMART mini goals. You’ve heard about SMART when it comes to goal setting, right?
That’s when you keep your goals:
- S (specific, simple, sensible)
- M (measurable, meaningful, motivating)
- A (achievable, agreeable, attainable)
- R (relevant, reasonable, realistic)
- T (time conscious)
It’s really important that we break the mega-manifestation down into micro-manifestlets. That’s going to ensure that we don’t overwhelm ourselves during the process. …and it’s ALL about the process.
Which leads me to the next thing we need to look at.
Where’s your head and heart at with the process?
I won’t lie, there might be moments of overwhelm, doubt, fear…you know, all the feelings that come with this kind of work. But if working towards your dream becomes your nightmare, you seriously need to ask yourself if it’s worth it.
And if you’ve dug deep, and you’ve been honest with yourself, and this thing IS what you really want. Like, it’s really going to serve you in an honest, healthy, and sustainable, way, then you need to get on board with all that it takes to get there.
You need to remember why you want it. And you’ve got to figure out where the resistance towards the process is coming from.
What kind of mindset are you in? What’s the narrative that’s going on in your head while you’re working towards your goals?
And speaking of all this work that you’re doing, is it really what you need to be doing?
I fall victim to this all the time. I don’t know if it’s my weak-ass attention span, or what, but I find myself getting distracted by random tasks, believing that I’m actually being productive towards my goal, when really I’m just wasting my damn time.
So a question I’ve learned to ask myself is:
If you were to continue doing exactly what you’re doing now, could you expect to see the results you desire?
Let THAT sink in for a minute.
If the answer is ‘no’ stop what you’re doing and figure out what’s gonna get you there.
- What resources can you access?
- Who can you ask for help?
- What rituals support your vision?
- How are you staying inspired?
- What support systems do you need?
- How realistic are you about your time frame? Your effort? Your energy? Your desire?
Okay, let’s move on.
So, let’s say, you have done ALL the things. You’ve made SMART mini goals, that align with your big manifestation. You’ve had a positive mindset during the process. You’ve had all the support. You’ve accessed all of the resources. You’ve seriously done all that you can possibly do. And still…bupkis.
Well, let’s talk about what you do next…
Embrace failure.
Our poor fragile egos, I just want to give them a big hug and a cookie, and tell them they’re gonna be okay. We take it so personally when things don’t turn out the way we want, it’s just crushing.
And there are LOTS of reasons why things don’t turn out the way we want. And it doesn’t mean that we’re not good enough, or smart enough, or deserving of the thing. Sometimes it’s just not meant to be.
And I can think of several instances in my own life when my “failure” actually turned out to be a gift. I’ll share some of these stories with The Dream Team.
Anyway, these gifts often look like self awareness, resilience, problem solving, confidence, resourcefulness, curiosity, connections, and, of course, creativity.
And the best part of all, is now there’s space for something more meaningful, satisfying or authentic to come into your life, and you have the tools, information and experience from your previous efforts.
Alright my friend. That’s it for today. If you ever want to dive deeper into these topics, or want access to helpful guides and tutorials that I pair with these posts, you can join The Dream Team. I’ll leave links in the show notes below.
I love you.
I appreciate you.
Thank you for being here.
And I will see you soon.
Good luck with your goals and manifestations!
